Welcome to Alkemya!

2020 was a year that changed the way most people were living and working in Australia and all over the world. For us, this change brought about an opportunity that until that point, had been out of reach.

After finding some sort of balance with ‘Home Schooling’ and ‘Working from Home’ we discovered there was time to think about other possibilities. Possibilities that were achievable within the walls of our home.

We were able to indulge in dreams, and spent time brainstorming, developing and mixing all sorts of recipes in our kitchen. Some were complete duds and ended up in the bin, and others held untapped potential.

From these dreams, discussions and experiments came Alkemya.

The name Alkemya is derived from Alchemy, the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary, sometimes in a way that cannot be explained.

Alkemya combines and highlights native Australian ingredients in all its products. The Indigenous people of Australia have known about the therapeutic benefits of these ingredients for over 60,000 years. These ingredients were part of their daily life and the knowledge of their uses have been passed from generation to generation.

As an Australian owned business, Alkemya is committed to sourcing quality ingredients that are locally produced. We are equally committed to ensuring where possible, that our packaging is reusable, recyclable or compostable.

Our products are free of chemicals that you don’t want to put on your skin and as such, products are produced in small batches and have a shelf life expectancy of something that is free of preservatives and chemicals. We recommend that when you get your products home, you use them. Their home is on your skin and not in the back of the bathroom cupboard.
